CEC's Second Year!

“Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass- it's about learning to sing in the rain!”-Author Unknown

We are in the process of our second day of school! (First real day of classes.) Yesterday we had a wonderful time of getting to know our students and of course had the lovely practical “not-so-fun” topics of rules and orientation to get through as well! Everyone ist still here and so the fun begins! Classes have officially started today and we are excited to have commenced this new year at CEC! I as the secretary have been having some difficulty with the printer/copier, so I thought the above quote was pretty appropriate! Talk about technology frustrations!!! So here I am stepping away from the problem for a bit and breathing deeply! It always seems to be the smallest things that can really get you down when you're busy, hey? Not that the BIG things don't either, but we sure have a lot of small things happen throughout the day that we can either let effect us in a bad way, or we can choose to keep smiling and be conquerors! As you can see I am mainly telling myself this right now! :) “I will not let the printer get the best of me and ruin my day!”

Yikes...back to the update! So we currently have 13 students and 1 more on the way! We're very impressed with our class this year and their excitement for learning and being in ministry! We are looking forward to seeing what God has in store for each of them and what He'll do in their lives during the next three months!

Ok...many things to get done, so I will have to leave it at this for now! I will keep you all posted though! Thank you for your prayers and keep up the good work!

¡Felíz Navidad, Prospero Año, y Felicidad!

I have that song in my head now.....that Christmas song "Felíz Navidad." If you haven't heard of it, it's a good song, if you have than maybe it's in your head now too! :) Wups...

It's always interesting to me to look back a year from the day you're in and figure out where you were, what you were doing.....at least I find it quite amusing! As I was with my family this New Year's Eve, i remembered last New Years....I was with my sister and her (fiancé, now husband) last New Year's Eve and we were in Venezuela! Crazy! I feel sad when i think of our visit and how the country has become so dangerous, and how everyone's just in a state of desperation. I get to thinking how it's only going to get worse in this world and we need to get moving on reaching people with the Gospel! We have a new year before us....what are we going to do with our time on this earth? Take a fresh start this year....change something, go somewhere, share with someone you haven't shared with yet!

We are getting busier but more excited by the day! A week and counting till classes start for our second school year here at CEC! We have 15 students "enrolled" but we'll see what happens come Monday morning of next week! God is at work in recruiting the men and woman HE wants here and we are excited to finally meet everyone and get started!

I was hoping have our website up and running by today (at least the English part), but much to my dismay I have to redo it on a different program.....hmmn.....how did this happen!?! Yes, a bit frustrating, but I suppose I'm learning alot of new things i didn't anticipate! (This is me trying to be positive after spending hours on it and knowing i'll need a few more hours now to reinvest.) Such is life at times...we question our having to go back a step, but funny how God using different things later on sometimes.....or just uses it now to test my attitude towards my computer, one or the other I suppose! Hmmn.....

Ok, well I need to do some inventory on school supplies among about a 1oo other things, so I should get to it! I hope this note finds everyone encouraged and excited to find themselves in a new year!

I know this Scripture is quite familiar, but I'm doing a study and it was in my reading this morning.....quite fitting for my post today. With this I will close....until next time!

2 Timothy 3:1-5 and 14-17 (Read the middle part if you have time, I just didn't want to be TOO LONG!)
"But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God-- having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them. "

"But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correction and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
